SHSM Programs
What is shsm?
SHSM is a program offered to grade 11 and grade 12 students who are enrolled in co-op (1-2 year program) and supported by the Ontario Ministry of Education. It allows students to explore a high demand targeted career path in depth and earn important job related skills

2 Cooperative Education credits
1 Senior English credit
1 Senior Math credit
1 Senior Business, Science or additional Coop credit
Certifications
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Level C - includes automated external defibrillation (AED)
- Standard First Aid
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Three (3) elective certifications
SECTOR-PARTNER EXPERIENCE
(SPE)
A one-day community innovation challenge in contextualized coding, mathematical literacy, or innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship (ICE) training
career focused experiential activities
Students explore, observe, participate and reflect through planned activities. These take place outside of the regular classroom and relate to the SHSM sector like the Toronto Raptors SHSM trip

Opportunities for students to experience their selected post-secondary pathway including attending a conference or event
